Why we make homes for hamsters

At Bandaby - we believe that all animals deserve a home, no matter how small they are.

We saw pet store shelves stacked with products that were ugly & cruel. Cages that were not only hideous but a fraction of the size they should be.

So - we decided to do something about it. We created homes that are big, thoughtfully designed and GORGEOUS.

The difference between a cage and a home

Barney spent the first half of her life in a tiny cage with nowhere to burrow and none of the enrichment he needed

When her owners had to relocate, we rescued her and gave her a home where she now forages, digs and naps to her heart's content

Our homes are

  • Above the minimum size

    Minimum - 100x50x50cm

    Bandaby - 120x60x70cm

  • Rock solid & secure

    We use powder-coated aluminium, high grade acrylic & metal screws - so no chewing or bowing

  • Big enough for all the essentials
    • Comfortably fits +30cm of bedding (for lots of burrowing!) with a full-size wheel
    • Plenty of space for hides, sandbath, substrates and enrichment
  • Easy to clean
    • Four doors open independently & rest open for easy spot cleaning
    • Lots of ventilation + non-absorptive materials to prevent odours
